Becoming a crime scene investigator is a very prestigious job. Many aspire to witness a crime scene investigation because they all think it’s a very cool job. But before you become an expert on forensic science, you need to have proper education which is dedicated to this field of study. And to have an idea on where you should enroll yourself and be assured of landing a very stable forensic science career, the list below shows the leading forensic science schools.

The following institutions will teach you what DNA testing is all about and how it is being conducted. Anything that you need to know about forensic science will be taught to you in the following schools, namely:

University of Mississippi

University of Central Florida

Loyola University, New Orleans

Michigan State University

Arkansas State

Baylor University, Texas

Oregon State University

University of Central Oklahoma

Ohio University

Colombia College, Missouri

With the choices given above about the leading forensic schools, it doesn’t necessarily follow that the other schools are no good. There are schools that offer this field of study although in the most generalized curriculum. For those schools that offer preparatory study on forensic science, you can still avail of that and enroll at a school that specializes in this field later. That is to widen your knowledge.

Although there are those who hire employees based on where he had studied, there also those who doesn’t really care as long as you know your job and you are qualified to do what you are required to do. Be it a school that is within your financial means or one of the expensive leading schools in the country.

Although there certainly are a lot of different ways that you can teach your child at home, the Montessori home schooling method is one that is preferred by many parents and children alike. The reason why it is so popular is because it allows the child to develop at their own speed for a number of different reasons. Here is just a little bit about Montessori home schooling and what it can do for your child’s development into a healthy adult.

The person behind the development of the Montessori method had the basic ideal that children need to develop at their own speed. This is one of the inherent flaws with the public school system, the fact that the entire group moves through the curriculum together. No consideration is taken for the fact that some children are going to develop in certain areas faster than others. This can really hinder a child as far as their current education is considered and can harm their development for the long term as well.

This is the reason that the Montessori home schooling system can really be considered an aide to life rather than a mainstream educational system. By allowing the child to move ahead at their own speed and to make choices that will affect them throughout their entire life, you generally end up with someone who is balanced and healthy, even as an adult. Giving them this kind of education in a home schooling setting is the perfect way for you to make sure that your child is well taken care of.

How do you choose an online high school? Some would tell you that this is:

a. very simple; or b. very hard; or c. both I think it is possible to apply a simple formula to the selection process. Following this formula will greatly improve the possibility of choosing the right online high school for you. This formula amounts to a ten point plan for success.

Point 1: Is the school accredited or recognized by a governmental agency? At one point, I used to say that the only acceptable choices for online high schools were those that were regionally accredited. I have now expanded my thinking on the topic (but only for high schools; colleges do not get this option). Some states do have a reasonable authorization process. Likewise, some school districts are offering real programs. It may be that neither is currently accredited. They are still reputable. Where you need to be careful is places like Florida that has its share of online high schools, but the approval process is non-existent. It amounts to a license to do business. By the way, there are almost as many fake accreditors as fake online high schools. Real accreditors are CITA and those accreditors listed at CHEA.org and the Department of Education website.

Point 2: Does the school have a reasonable length of operation? This point is difficult to measure. What is reasonable? You do have some leeway here. There are some “schools” that have been around a long time that are fake. If it is a newer school, what is the experience of those running the school. Reputable schools will either have this on the website or will be happy to tell you.

Point 3: Is it listed at a reputable source? With some humility, is it listed in the book below and/or the website below? While I will leave it to others to decide if those resources are valid, they have both had many readers.

Point 4: Is the school reasonably priced? Here’s an oddity for you: Reasonably priced schools are either free or are in the couple thousands of dollars (more or less). Not reasonable are programs that are $295 (with a discount for cash) or something similar. Clearly, there is no doubt this is a fake school. A number of states now have programs which are free. That is a reasonable price. Likewise, there are the commercial programs like Laurel Springs School, Penn Foster High School, or Keystone National High School that are also reasonably priced.

Point 5: Does the instructional methodology match your preferred method? Some online programs are still very much tailored to an independent study format. Other online programs are very much tailored to a more traditional classroom setting. Both are acceptable and it is a matter of personal preference. You will want to know which a particular school does before paying any money! Analyze yourself and decide which is best for you.

Point 6: Does the instructional scheduling match your preferred method? Aligned with Point 5, some schools schedule course times and others have you work on your own. Both are acceptable and it is a matter of personal preference.

Point 7: Does it have a believable website? You absolutely cannot get a real diploma in seven days. Or seventeen days. Or one month. No, you absolutely cannot get a high school diploma for $300. Any site that is making amazing claims is not a good source of information on online high schools.

Point 8: Does it have a professionally-made website? Professionally-made sites look nice; they have a professional appearance. They list staff members. They offer complete contact information. Take a look at the website for Laurel Springs Academy for the Gifted & Talented as an example.

Point 9: Does the curriculum appear to be similar to what you would experience in a traditional school? Absolutely, there should be some room for innovation. Having said that, you really do need to have some courses that look like World History or Algebra (and that probably use those names). Remember that part of the deal is that you want to use this diploma for other purposes like college or employment. Confusing those folks is not a good idea.

Point 10: Are you able to contact the school in multiple ways? A real school will have telephone access. A real school will have a fax number. They will not be the same number. A real school will have an email address and a website.

Should a reputable school hit all ten of these points? Yes. These are minimum standards. Schools should feel free to exceed these points, but potential students should be wary when schools do not live up to them.

Today many children undergo lot of stress related to academics from a very early age. Coping up with the activities, curriculum and relation to the school environment is an everyday challenge. These children have difficulty in following the instructions, or read, write do certain other task related to academics, which in turn hamper their overall development and eventually become a target of peer rejection, leading to low self esteem and shame for oneself. Children undergoing such a situation are the ones having “Learning Difficulties”.

Learning Difficulties is generally referred to the chronic difficulties in learning to read, write, spell, or calculate. Though their causes and nature are still not fully understood. Presence of a learning disability does not indicate subnormal intelligence, but it is thought that learning-disabled are neurologically based difficulty in processing language or figures. These difficulties can overcome by special learning strategies or with extra effort and tutoring on the part of parents and teachers. Examples of learning disabilities include difficulty in reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), and mathematics (dyscalcula). Learning disabilities may be diagnosed through testing, and children may be enrolled in programs offering special help. Children usually show early signs of Learning Difficulties, if these signs are left unrecognized, learning disabilities may result not only in poor classroom performance but also in low self-esteem and disruptive behaviour.

Some of the early symptoms of Learning difficulties are:

Poor performance in group tests.

Difficulty discriminating size, shape, color.

Reversals in writing and reading.

Slow in completing work.

Poor organizational skills easily confused by instructions.

Difficulty with abstract reasoning, sequencing, calculations as well as problem solving.

Gets distracted easily and is hyperactive.

Lags in developmental milestones in terms of physical- motor, language, mental and social adjustment.

When considering all the given symptoms, as a parent you should very well know that each child is a different individual. No child will show all the listed symptoms. Some symptoms maybe common as compared to other ones.

You as a Parent should keep in mind certain issues which can help your child to come out of learning difficulty.

Accept them for what they are according to their age of development and potentials and have a realistic expectations and demands.

Listen to your children as much as you can. This way you will come to your child’s strength and weakness.

Look for and encourage their strengths, interests, and abilities and overcome their limitations and difficulties.

Reward them with praise, good words, smiles, and pat on the back as often as you can.

Involve them in various family activities. Tell them when they misbehave and explain how you feel about their behavior, then let them come up with their own behaviour correction strategy.

Help them to correct their errors and mistakes by showing or demonstrating what they should do. Do not nag! Nagging will aggravate the problem.

Give them reasonable chores and a regular family work responsibility whenever possible.

Provide toys, games, motor activities and opportunities that will stimulate them in their development.

Read enjoyable stories to them and with them. Encourage them to ask questions, discuss stories, tell the story, and to reread stories.

Increase their ability to concentrate by reducing distracting objects in the environment around.

Do not get hung up on traditional school grades! It is important that they progress at their own rates and be rewarded for doing so.

Take them to libraries and encourage them to select and check out books of interest.

Help them to develop self-esteem and to compete with self rather than with others.

Insist that they cooperate socially by playing, helping, and serving others in the family and the community.

Serve as a model to them by reading and discussing material of personal interest. Share with them some of the things you are reading and doing.

Consult with teachers or other specialists whenever you feel it to be necessary in order to better understand what might be done to help your child learn.

Children with learning difficulties need lot of love, understanding and patience from parents. Its only you who can help your child to cope up with the situation and overcome their difficulties, hence giving them a wonderful life ahead.
