Why Online High School?
The number of online high schools is increasing at a steady rate as more and more schools offer quality, accredited programs online. With the presence of public, private and online high schools, individuals are faced with a greater choice when it comes to their education.
You know about regular private and public schools. They’re located in your neighborhood and city. You know what they’re all about and the types of programs and services they offer. What about online high school? It’s a relatively new concept.

The Montessori Home Schooling Method Explained
Although there certainly are a lot of different ways that you can teach your child at home, the Montessori home schooling method is one that is preferred by many parents and children alike. The reason why it is so popular is because it allows the child to develop at their own speed for a number of different reasons. Here is just a little bit about Montessori home schooling and what it can do for your child’s development into a healthy adult.
The person behind the development of the Montessori method had the basic ideal that children need to develop at their own speed. This is one of the inherent flaws with the public school system, the fact that the entire group moves through the curriculum together. No consideration is taken for the fact that some children are going to develop in certain areas faster than others. This can really hinder a child as far as their current education is considered and can harm their development for the long term as well.

Homeschooling Becoming A Viable Alternative?
Last year alone, more than one million children in the United States choose homeschooling over traditional education. This stunting figure was released according to the National Center for Education Statistics.
Homeschooling is a recent development in education. Not that long ago, it was considered too radical by many education experts. Nowadays, it is legalized in every state and more than 1 million children has undergone homeschooling and I suspect many more parents are seriously considering homeschooling.
The interesting thing was what prompted such a change? There have been many recent surveys to suggest that parents are getting impatient and fed up with our public schooling system. It is seen as being superficial with no real-life skills being applied and taught.

Education – Public Vs. Private
Another continuing battle in the world of education and politics is public versus private education. The arguments for and against each are compelling. This is another one of those debates where there is no winner or loser, right or wrong, though there are those who disagree. We’ll present each side of the argument without taking one side or the other.
The obvious arguments for a private education is the quality of that education itself, or at least so the supporters say. Supposedly, a child who goes to a private school gets better teachers, newer books, individualized attention, smaller classes and the so called better class of person to share his pencil case with. The person who goes to a private school doesn’t have to worry about being picked on by bullies. Private schools are simply the ideal utopia for your young child.

Home Schooling Option Over Traditional Public Schools Gaining Acceptance In U.s. – Not So In Other Countries
Though many parents have opted to home school their children for religious reasons over the years, the alternative to traditional public schools gained momentum after the Columbine High School shootings in Colorado. Each year, the number of children being removed from public schools and schooled at home increases. Public schools across the nation have finally recognized that the trend is here to stay. Many recognize that the alternative can be supplemented through the public schools, giving students a more rounded education. Thus, many school districts now offer several home schooling alternatives. This is not the case in some other countries.
During Adolf Hitler’s reign in Germany, he created the Ministry of Education, one of his first moves to control the minds of the youth, Germany’s future in his estimation. The ministry controlled all public schools and school-related issues. One of their first actions was to decree that all children must attend public schools, essentially banning all home schooling and private schools. That ban still exists today.
